The animal-welfare label is based on central requirements selected by animal welfare experts at the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration. These basic requirements meet conditions that go far beyond current statutory requirements.

Organic beef cattle

Organic beef cattle spend all summer grazing in the fields, and when it gets cold, the animals move into housing with plenty of litter and room for moving about. Their feed is 100% organic – and GMOfree. The feed comes from fields that are not sprayed with pesticides – nor are artificial fertilisers used. The fields are usually fertilised using the animals’ own manure which is a natural element in the organic cycle on the farm.

  • Organic beef cattle from Friland Organic may come, for example, from Hereford, Limousin, Simmental and Angus breeds.
